Back Alley Social(303 W. 5th st.) and High Society have been steppin' up their game as of late! The combo is proving to be devastating(in a really good way)! This Friday for example High Society presents a night of many many homies. A.K.A. Thank god its Fucking Friday featuring King Louie, Doneski, Details, The English Army, and quite a bit more! FREE. Imagine my shock/sadness when I realized we'd be missing a Neiliyo and Go Go Garcia collaboration! This moving business is disrupting my party fur reelz. Anyway, word is out on how much fun Neiliyo's shows are, throw Gay Science and Go Go Garcia in that mix and you've got ~~rhymes~~ a party good as a tasty cake. Beauty Bar Friday, be there.

If you're hiding fat stacks in your wallet you might want to have a night filled with a Shpongle dj set, Govinda, and more. Where? The Parish, $25 the day of the show.

I'm not sure I even have to tell you that Wild Life parties fucking GO HARD, at this point. Still, you hoes gosta know who you 'bout to see. How about Kids at the Bar from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma! Those kids know how to party, I highly suggest you listen to the tracks available on their myspace. The rest of the lineup reads like a fucking Austin DJ wish list with King Louie, Richard.Gear, and Josh Distance. Ah uh hmmm...don't forget photos by The Peen Scene...I hear they know how to party as well. See you there!

Here I've got a special event for you, its a Cine Las Americas Film Festival after party! Thus, those Peligrosa Allstars will be bringin' out the big guns for this one. All the way from Argentina on ZZK Records comes El G! This party is only $5, going down at Copa on South Congress.

Finally, there's an interesting little party going on at the Booty. A lot of folks I haven't heard of along side a few good friends. The poster has the myspaces listed but I'll make it even easier for you! Overview, Exeter, Meganaut,and Quito & the Bone (can't find the myspace). Beauty Bar is always a safe bet for tons o fun.

Yet another big party I completely beefed on due to my scatterbrain. Our good friend Parson will be sharing a bill with none other than DJ Diesel Boy at Light Bar. Pretty Lights will also be in that line up. Tickets are $17.79.

WEDNESDAY 4/29/2009

If you decide you want to take a break from studying, you may want to check out the U.S. Art Authority located on the corner of 29th and fruth street, aka right behind Spider House Cafe . The reason being, Moth! Fight!'s show. It's a part of the Fusebox Festival, so the only info for tickets I could find was $129 for the entire festival. But, I refuse to believe they won't just charge a door price for this show. So check it out!

Don't even act like you and everybody else in the world don't want to go to this. Do512 has a chance to win tickets if you click "I like it" right here. While you're there be sure to join my crew. Anyway, George Clinton and mother fucking Parliament Funkadelic are playing Stubb's! This group is legendary for their live show. I have a feeling Stubb's is gonna blast off to space this Wednesday night. $25 bones gets a dog in.

Plush is always a safe bet on Wednesdays. Heavyweight Wednesday that is. If you love dance music you should absolutely do this dubstep night.

To be honest I'm completely unfamiliar with everyone on this flyer. Still, they went so far as to make up a big fancy poster, so the least I can do is show it to you lovely Peens! Candice Elliot, J.A.M.O.N., Nathan Stewart, and Stephen Glass all at Barcelona!

I know what you're thinking, isn't Wednesday Richard.Gear's Champagne Room at Lanai? I'm way ahead of you! I sent old Richie G an email asking what the deal is. Apparently there was some confusion with the party title being Champagne Room so the amazing flyer by Lydia Reynolds is useless! Bummer. The good news is that Richard.Gear will continue to throw parties every Wednesday up on that Lanai rooftop. However, it will now be called SAFARI CLUB! Can't wait to see what Lydia comes up with for that title!

Yo! I should be packing for our relocation. However, here I am telling you fools about some parties that are so crunk they shouldn't be allowed on a Tuesday. We'll begin with Sounds! Fun! over at Canvas. Every Tuesday until the end of the world. That's how long this weekly will be going! Due to the fact that they provide a designated bartender? Maybe. Perhaps it's because Sounds! Fun! currators, Richard.Gear and Josh Distance bring you the best guest DJs Austin has to offer, week in and week out. This week the Wild Life duo is giving you Irresponsible Voltron's Khary•Kadaver! As always this party is FREE.

I haven't seen an event for the Firehouse Lounge in a while. The last time The Peen Scene was there...let's just say we witnessed a dirty helicopter...put your imaginations to work. So, if this wasn't the most insanely stressful week of my life we'd definitely have to consider stopping by to catch two good friends, A.Ward and this week's special guest, Orlando Mas. These dudes are gonna be playing records that will blow your mind all night! Also, did anybody notice the two Lydia Reynolds flyers back to back? Austin is certainly going to miss her!

I can't believe I've never blogged about Kondrete Jungle-Austin. If you don't feel like reading that link, just know its the Austin branch of the world's longest and most consistant running drum and bass weekly. What better venue to host this weekly shindig than, Plush. If you are into drum and bass, this is a must. If you're not/not sure about drum and bass give Austin's, Loki and friends a shot, at the corner of 7th and Red River.

Just back from his Coachella adventure, and preparing for the upcoming Glass Candy show, Richard Henry will be spinning the shit out of some hip hop at the Tap Room(inside of SIX Lounge). Holla!

Amongst the chaos of moving, I forgot to mention the fact that Details will be playing at another new hotspot Back Alley Social (old Whiskey Bar). This weekly is always free. ALSO! DJ Blake Brandon will be spinning up in this piece!

BIG BIG NEWS!

Here it is! The moment ~~some~~ all of you have been waiting for! The revealing of the 2009 Austin City Limits Music Festival Lineup! Remember, you saw it here FIRST!...or second...if third, just forget us! Anyway, the line up look really really....eh. Definitley a few steps in the right direction with Bassnectar and Girl Talk. But, where the fuck are the headliners? When is our turn for Radiohead!? Ugh. Pearl Jam and the Beastie Boys?...If this was '94 I'd be fucking pumped! I'd go for free!! *wink wink C3<33333. In smaller news, local superstars Spoon are getting a 3 night residency at Stubbs on the nights of July 9th - 11th. Opening acts throughout the three night stay will vary. Oh man, sorry about "skipping" the Sunday post, we were overwhelmed by the 500+ photos we took from the night before. Anyway, let's get right to it!

Unfortunately, it's Monday. But, don't tell Prince Klassen or DJ Mel that! Those two are throwing a party like its a Friday and shit. If you would like to party in the same manner, find Nasty's over there on Guadalupe by Amy's Ice Cream. It's goin' down!

We saw an interesting little band during last year's Fun Fun Fun Fest named, Dengue Fever. Well, if you missed them then, here's your chance to see them at The Mohawk. Tickets are just $10 at the door. Included in that ticket price is the after party featuring DJ Jester the Filipino Fist. If you don't go to the Dengue Fever show you can still get in to see the Filipino Fist, I'm just not sure what the cover price will be. Who knows maybe they'll be fucking cool and let you party for free!
