So, Idk if its weird to say or not, but last year's "Cave Party" pretty much changed my life. From harassing the legendary film star Bill Murray to the simple fact of free vodka and dancing in a mother fucking cave. Anyway, that was the closing party for Fantastic Fest last year...This year they're keeping it closer to town. However from what I hear, shit is gonna be just as glorious to the senses as the previously mentioned party of all parties. Musically you'll be traveling time through three decades of jams. DJ Mel will be handling the 80's starting at 11pm, then comes Doneski quite naturally covering the 90's, and finally the millenium will be left up to DJ Manny. I've heard rumors of a "3D dance floor", although I really can't even wrap my brain around that one. All of this is on top of the fact that you'll be among the very first to step foot in/witness the Alamo Drafhouse's newest venture, The Highball. Located next to the Alamo Drafhouse-South Lamar, where this year's IHeartComix and Mad Decent raves were during SXSW. Its really hard to miss, and trust me...YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS ONE! Who will be the surprise celebrity guest? Come 'n' see, its completely free!

Really there's no excuse to miss the previously mentioned 3D party. However, if you just absolutely must be downtown this evening, you've still got some fresh options for dancin'. Last week I told you about our boy Sharkweek of Mad Classy getting a brand new weekly in the warehouse district. This week, shit's finally gonna hit the fan! The inaugural PartyShark guest will be Irresponsible Voltron's Chi. So with those two behind the decks, I think its safe to expect BASS. Anyway, remember the Lose Control Party during SXSW? I know you do. I'm just sayin', this party is in the same spot, Canvas.

Regardless of ACL, Fantastic Fest, or a Kanye interruption Say What! is happening at Plush tonight. In fact, not only is it happening, but its gonna be a braaaaawl! Digg of the Table Manners Crew vs Discotronix's Boogie Monster, to be more specific. No offense to the Sunday night Plush crew, but Digg FTW!

Finally, Malverde's got DJ Orion spinning his jams until 2am. Its a little bit out there (Malverde), I know. However, I hear this Wednesday night dance party is totally worth the walk/bike/drive every time!

Damn, two of The Peen Scene's favorite things about Austin, Texas wrapped up nicely into one video. I guess recently our good friend Miggs from uLOVEi sat down and did dope little interview with Neiliyo, which he posted it up on the interwebs, as he tends to do. Hmm yeah, I said "sat down to do an interview"...but if you know Neiliyo, you know that dude won't/can't stay still for more than like 5 seconds. I guess tonight is the calm before the storm. However, there's still a few spots worth checking out this evening. First, DJ Marz is throwin' down at his potential new Tuesday night spot. That spot just happens to be everyone's favorite new(ish) drinkin' spot, Chupacabra! You'll probably be stopping by there tonight, huh? Well, be sure to say what up to the DJ and do a little dancin' while you're a it. This party is free, save your money for them tasty drinks they be servin' up. Marz Attacks!

Speaking of tasty drinks. Well perhaps not so much tasty as they are RUTHLESS over at Shakespeares. We're talking $2 long island iced teas, a strip club drink at a dive bar price!...horrible singing and amazing times ensue. Sebastian Nebula fucking swears by this karaoke night, but he sucks...jk!!!!

More along the lines of a traditional dance party, Plush has got the city's only drum and bass/jungle weekly going on tonight. I couldn't find out who's operating the decks tonight, but I have faith shit'll be bangin' no matter what. No cover, $2 New Castle and Dos XX are the drink specials tonight.

Is today really Monday? Bc there's some big ass shit goin' down tonight. For one, DJ Eleven of NYC's The Rub will be helping DJ Mel to celebrate his 675th Monday hip hop dance party at Nasty's. That's 13 years of straight up crunk. 10pm to 2am, if you can handle that on a Monday. God, I fucking love Austin.

Uhm yeah, its still Monday...But would you like a second big hip hop party? of course you do. Our homies at Keep it Local have teamed up with Beauty Bar this evening to give you three up and coming Austin hip hop acts. Starting with the lovely KB the Boo Bonic showin' off her skills. She'll be followed by the G.U.U.D. and then Crew 54. Damn, Beauty Bar goin' hip hop? I like.

I wasn't able to find out any specifics on tonight's Mixed Up Monday party. However, all you need to know is Cauze One's Monday night dance party at Red Fez is pretty killer every single time. The warehouse district is comin' up fast, you can even puff on a hookah while maxin' or dancing to some jams. Yup.

The Alamo Drafthouse-Ritz isn't fucking around tonight! Nay, this ish looks pretty effing cool. If you are a fan of Wonder Shozen and Adult Swim, you probably don't want to miss this $2 showing of Devin Flynn's "Y'all So Stupid". From what I can tell, "Y'all So Stupid" is a complete madness in the best way possible. Watch the clip I've provided, srsly do it.

So many massive shows in town this evening. However, The Peen Scene will only be taking our party pictures in one spot tonight, Barcelona. Where else!? Mother fucking Learning Secrets presents Annie Mac of BBC - Radio 1 Mashup, live in Austin,TX. She'll share the bill/booth with Ian Orth of Learning Secrets and Thomas-Austin. C'mon, we's gon do some dancin'.

Yet another huge dance party that I hope you've RSVP'd to. Once again, you may still have time. If you're all prepared for this latin dance party RSVP and all, just $3 gets you in. So by now you should know full well that Republic Live is probably the hottest new dance club in town. Their bookings just keep getting bigger and bigger. Tonight they've got DJ Icey for just $10. Like Icey's Myspace headline reads, "Gonna hear electric music, solid walls of sound". Definitely an Elton John quote, whatchu know 'bout that?

Not many performers can pull off this sort of epic flyer...Neiliyo however, he could even throw a unicorn or a wizard on that shit and not think twice. That dude is wild. If you don't know that yet, you are going to Beauty Bar tonight. The cost is only $5 for a 4 hour strong dance party? Sheeeit, so worth it. I haven't even mentioned the fact that DJ Mel will be on the decks and Tuscon dance pop band, Music Video? will also be performing. But wait, there's even more! This $5 show also features Scorpio Rising and The Green. Wow.

Bus Driver is ghetto tech hip hop at its fucking best. Fans of shit like Spank Rock should make sure to hit up this show. Tickets to this show are just $10, and will also feature a performance by LA Rapper Abstract Rude! It looks like Red 7 has gone hip hop for tonight.

Asobi Seksu are always a super hot ticket here in Austin during SXSW. Tonight you have the rare opportunity to catch this amazing indie pop outfit outside of the festival setting. The Mohawk has got them along with Seattle's The Cave Singers and a band called Lightning Dust who happens to feature members of another big SXSW name, Black Mountain. This show will only cost you $10 at the door, small price to pay.

Well Datarock, of "Fa Fa Fa" and "Computer Camp Love" are in the ATX tonight thanks to Myspace. That's going to cost you $14 dollars, if its not already sold out. As for the Emo's outdoor stage, there's sure to be quite a bit of drum-surfing and all 'round wil'in out. Mother fucking Monotonix all the way from Tel Aviv, Israel for just $15! Also reigning outside will be Pong and White Rhino...Craziness ensues.

Your weekly Plush bass fix is ready and waiting to be filled tonight. Ever since Weight changed dates at Plush, Fridays have gotten a lot heavier! Tha Herd are gonna be in full effect tonight, trust me. Not only is this legendary Austin dubstep weekly free, they've got drink specials.

MEDIUM RAAAAARE! Every SXSW these guys would like to cook for you a Steak. However, rarely do they venture all the way to Austin outside of festivals. Daetron Vargas has tapped Houston's DJ Sun to join him behind the 1's and 2's up on/in/at Lanai tonight. I've heard really good things and Lanai's setting is hard to beat. Now don't all those sounds like the ingredients for a delicious dance party?

Every Friday, two of The Peen Scene's favorite things join forces. When DJ Crown of Table Manners Crew takes of Barcelona fools juss don't know! It gets out of control, regularly - In a good way, in the best fucking way. If we're out, Barcelona is an absolute must stop to see friends, should be the same for you.

The triumphant return to DJing of our good friend B the Beat? I think so. And from the looks of the confirmed guest list it has potential to be his biggest and best party yet. The Peen Scene will be there, we fucking love the way our bridge party pictures turn out almost ever single time. Be there, if you're not snuggled up in bed being an old ass. I don't know how the fuck we keep missing Posr doing their dance punk thing, but I am getting angry about it! I kind of really want to get pictures of them playing. Not only that, we're also missing Tense, DJ Richard Henry, big time Houston DJs Grrl Parts, and even a DJ set by Posr's bass player Chris Casual! Fuck, that lineup is not to be missed! Not one, but two shows featuring legends here in the ATX when the sun goes down! I'm sure its very poser, but I have loved the Happy Mondays ever since 24 Hour Party People came out. Either way, I love them all the same. I also love hits like "Pretty in Pink" via The Psychedelic Furs. Tickets are $22 and worth every penny!
