Due to the fact that we're completely broke and some folks refuse to believe that The Peen Scene is the greatest blog on the planet, we could only get one spot on the list to Emo's last night. Thus, I was forced to take one for the team and miss out on Ms. Beth Ditto with her amazing disco punk band, The Gossip. Atleast from the looks of the photos Jen got...I totally missed out! Ugh. So, if you were one of the lucky ones to see the show, I hope these effectively summarize your evening. If you were like me and couldn't make it, I hope these photos make you as sad/jealous as I am. We've got everything from Beth putting ON a layer of clothes(a rare occurrence at a Gossip show) to a short lived girl-fight up in this set. Check it out!

Hey...have you heard of this little group made up of former members of Death From Above 1979 and Girlsareshort called MSTRKRFT? FUUUUUCK YES YOU HAVE! Tonight the electro duo from Toronto will be performing live at Republic Live right here in Austin,Texas! This will sell out, I suggest getting your tickets ahead of time. Our friends King Louie and Orion will get things started for this huge dance party. I don't know what else to say....E-P-I-C.

Definitely a busy week for our friend Parson. Just last night he was opening for Distance, tonight he's kicking things off for the one and only Venetian Snares at Elysium! That's right, drum and bass at Elysium. For $15 (or $12 advanced tickets) you can dance the night away to hard hitting beats by Bangalore, Parson of Irresponsible Voltron, and of course the unusually prolific Venetian Snares!

This is sure to be a massive party, not only because it has free booze (punch & jello shots), but the lineup is so fucking deep with talent! This party is all ages and will only cost you $5. That means $5 gets you POSR, Butcher Bear & Charlie, Scorpio Rising, Vice Device, Art vs Industry, Voice Mau & DJ Cold Electric, and Young American....just on the inside! Outside tha club, shit will be poppin' off just as hard, DJ sets by DJ Scorpio, DJ Dey One, Czech One, and DJ Billy Q! Fuck me...that's a lot of drinking and dancing for $5. Club Mixx is located right next to Emo's on 6th street.

HCB Productions will be throwing their Halloween bash tonight. As expected it features two amazing DJ/producers with bass on the mind. Megasoid and Mochipet headline this event at The Parish this evening. Speaking of tickets, if you wait until you get to the door entry will cost you $15.

Just one more reason why I love living in Austin, every so often you get a chance to see The Black Angels. If you don't know, The Black Angels are quite reminiscent of, dare I say, The Doors. The show also has Philadelphia's Kurt Vile & the Violator and locals Shapes Have Fangs on the bill. The Mohawk will be opening its doors for this Halloween Eve psychedelic music celebration at 9pm, tickets are $15.

I don't have too too much info on this Zombie Ball, I saw the flyer, went to ZombieBall.com, and I'm still not quite sure what all will be taking place. However, I'll share what I do know. First of all, the ball will be located at Sustainable Waves Studios(4715 E. 5th). If you can, you should ride a bike because "first 200 cyclists will get a token to redeemable for a special gift onsite!" Music for the party will be provided by T-Bird & the Breaks, Spoonfed Tribe, and FM Campers. Make-up artists will be at the entrance to make sure this party remains exclusively for zombies! I suspect free beer, but that's purely speculation. So if that sounds crunk to you, purchase your tickets($14 advanced, $20 at the door).

Fridays at Plush perpetually means dubstep with The Weight Crew. However, tonight they welcome Cyrus, dubstep producer and one half of Random Trio! I'm not sure what the cover is, but if you want to see world class dubstep in a super intimate environment, just dance pay it!

After just one summer of doing this blog, I'm fully fucking aware of the fact that Austin loves boat parties. Apparently we won't even let the fact that we're half way through fall stop us from wil'in out on the the water! Tonight at 9pm this party boat will be departing, Queen cover band, Magnifico, and all. Also, what would a boat party be without free beer? Bunk, that's what! The Gossip, led by the incomparable Beth Ditto, will be makin' all of Emo's dance with their amazing blend of disco and punk. The band is known for not giving a fuck, and that's how The Peen Scene likes it! Opening the show will be Austin's own Many Birthdays, starting around 10pm. Despite the fact that the poster says $17, the cover at the door will be $19. Still, if I wasn't beyond broke, I'd totally be willing to pay $19 to see The Gossip. Prepare yourselves, Emo's, you're about to get fucked up!

First of all, shout out to Hunter on this rad fucking poster! All the way from the home of dubstep(London,England dummy) to Austin,TX comes Distance! That's quite a di...long way! He'll be playing with the locally famous Mad Classy Crew and Irresponsible Voltron's Parson. It's all going down at Ace's, right there on 6th. Let me tell you, I've seen picture proof that Ace's has 6 gigantic subs being brought in to handle the BASS. You can purchase will call tickets for 12.25 ahead of time right here, otherwise it'll cost you $10 for 21+/$15 for 18-20.

Beauty Bar has the cool poster/cool show combo going down tonight as well. Like every show this week tonight's is Halloween themed, however, this one features music by The White White Lights, She Sir, Haunting Oboe Music(one of my favorite Austin band names), and Isle of White. So, should you be looking for a live indie show, Beauty Bar is where you want to be.

All month long Sober has been hosting this Thursday night dance party at Red Fez. Tonight he's finally taking control of the decks! The name doesn't lie, the party is Top Notch.

Tonight, and every 1st and 3rd Thursday, is now uLOVEi night at Barcelona here in Austin,TX. Yep, you knew Migs(uLOVEi) made videos, but did you know he's also DJ Details!? You probably did. Either way, Details will be spinning his favorite jams from 80's to electro, whatever he wants.

Lastly, Antone's has got a cool indie rock show going on, complete with an indie rock DJ set from Transmission Entertainment's Adi Anand. This Playing in Traffic lineup promises intense live sets by The Steps, Speak, The Burning Hotels, and Motel Aviv. Also, if you're planning on hitting this rock show, be sure to RSVP for $5 admission, as well as a chance to win a VIP table or free tickets!
