YOUR CITY'S A SUCKER. MY CITY'S A CREEP.
The experimental electronic soul outfit from Sweden, Little Dragon, are in town to play a show at Emos tonight. Local mash-up DJ, Car Stereo (Wars), is also playing the show to make completely sure its a dance party from start to finish. Tickets are $10 online, so probably $12 at the door (but Idk).

I fucking love The Alamo Drafthouse! Tonight at the Alamo Drafthouse-Ritz, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and all you can eat pizza! Click here for full details. I have a feeling this kid is gonna be all over this shit.

If you's like fuck pizza, turtles, and dragons! You're probably in the mood for Austin's longest running hip hop dance party featuring Prince Klassen and DJ Mel. I'm talking about Monday nights at Nasty's, shit's located at 606 Maiden Lane.

Red Fez has tons of exciting stuff coming up in the near future, but Cauze One's Monday night dance party has been going strong for a minute. Tonight is no different, DJ Cauze One and possibly a special guest on the decks, for free from 10pm-2am.

Our friends at Knuckle Rumbler hooked us up with a pair of Skullcandy Headphones to give away to you Peens. Its all related to the Del Tha Funky Homosapien show going down tomorrow night at Aces Lounge! Speaking of the Del show, for today (11/30/2009) only, you can get 2 tickets for just $30! That's quite a deal considering it'll cost you $20 per person at the door. Anyway back to what's important now, the peentest! Send an email to Peentests@yahoo.com with "Skullcandy" in the subject line, in the body include your full name and tell us the name of Del Tha Funky Homosapien's futuristic alias. It's that simple! Like the 2 for $30 ticket sale, this contest is for one day and one day only, so hurry!

The lineup sells itself - Rusko, Designer Drugs, Above & Beyond, and tons more. $60 tickets available at the door, taking place at The Travis County Expo Center (7311 Decker Lane).

Saddle Creek legends Cursive are in town tonight at The Mohawk. The show also features a lo-fi set by Capgun Coup. As of now you can still get $13 tickets at the door, but who knows how long that'll last. Get to The Mohawk early, this show will definitely sell out.

So I'll be honest, I don't know too much about EOTO, but what I have heard sounds quite good. I'm sure it would sound even better with the proper drugs too :x! Tickets are $15.50 for 21 & up/$18.50 for 18 & up. Not only will there be live breaks and dubstep, but live art and visuals as well! Oh yeah, and I fucking love the soundsystem at The Parish. Love it.

As always Prepmode has got a top notch special guest DJ for his Saturday night "SuperTuff" party at Barcelona. Who, you ask? Raw Word Records' Orion! You Peens know alllll about Orion, hell, you know alllll about Prepmode too! So basically, expect a non-stop dance party.

Toddy B and Plush's Skinny John are teaming up to party rock some techno up at Lanai. Btw, Toddy B often refers to this as his favorite party every single month, make sure you see why!

Yeah, I'm old as fuck...I used to play the shit out of some Gameboy. Well, tonight at The Highball is celebrating the 8-bit jams via the Gameboy! They're calling it "Datapop 2.0". Yup, this happened last year too(at a different venue). Tickets are $7 + a $1 service charge. I swear, you'll be surprised by how hard one can jam the fuck out to Gameboy music.

Yes, I'm obsessed with Neon Indian. You know who else is obsessed? Woxy, that's who! Tonight inside of the legendary Stubbs BBQ Neon Indian, The Tunnels, and Tigercity will kick off Woxy's "Local Residency Series" in style. Tickets to this sure to be amazing show are only $10! Stubbs will be opening their doors at 9pm.

After witnessing Peligrosa at Fun Fun Fun Fest, I can safely say Orion, Pagame, Manolo Black, Hobo D, and DJ Dus truly are some allstars! Those dudes kill it. Mix them with live drums by John Speice and The Parish's soundsystem and you've got a peligrosa combination (that means dangerous, dummy)! Be sure to RSVP for $3 entry, rather than $5 at the door.

I don't know who Brandy Joy is, but happy birthday to her. I do however know exactly who Digg and DJ Crown are, they are some party rocker extraordinaire(s)! They're both from Table Manners Crew, so expect tons of great hip hop with a smack of electro. Brandy is a lucky girl to have those two dudes spinning her b-day, and at the dopest spot in town (Barcelona) no less!

Since Orion is busy with Peligrosa, he won't be able to play his usual Friday party at Creekside. Lucky for us two Peen favorites, King Louie and Prepmode were ready to step in, so the party certainly won't suffer! Enjoy some of the cheapest/strongest drinks in town while you dance to banger after banger at Creekside tonight.

First wave ska, anyone? Yeah, I thought so! The one and only The Skatalites are playing at Flamingo Cantina tonight! Also on the bill are Austin's own The Bandulus and Proper Villain Soundsystem. Tickets are $15, they'll be on sale at the club.

If those turkey leftovers have got you sleepy, maybe some hardcore bass will wake you the fuck up! Plush's legendary dubstep night hosted by Grommit and friends is what you need in your life. Drinks specials and dubstep, doesn't get much better than that!
Labels: Barcelona, Creekside, flamingo cantina, plush, stubbs, The Parish, things to do
The night before Thanksgiving Beauty Bar is giving you the opportunity to grub turkey with people you actually like. This could be a fun event, barring any 'splosions like this. Music will be provided by the Tighten Up DJs. No cover, free fried turkey and Lonestar Beer while it lasts!

The Say What Crew aren't taking a night off just because there's turkey to slam tomorrow. Instead tonight Mez One, Digg, and Matteo are welcoming guest DJ, Wil B! Tonight they're going to stuff you full of nu disco, tech house, and electro. So much to be thankful for!

The dopest rooftop club in the city, Lanai, has got Richard.Gear spinnin' his "Safari Club" party. The soundsystem is killer, you've heard it if you've been within a couple of miles of 5th and Congress on any given night. This is a requisite stop on your Wednesday night club hop.

*UPDATE! - oops, apparently Partyshark is no more!*Coming off of an absolutely murderous night(Joker - 11/22/09), Sharkweek is ready to party once again. I'm not sure how his liver or eardrums feel about the matter, but that's secondary to the bass. Oh...there will be bass. Bass in the form of funk, reggae, and of course dubstep! Canvas looks to be another must stop on your Wednesday night party journey.

House music, J.A.M.O.N. know that shit! Every Wednesday night at Barcelona, J.A.M.O.N. and friends throw down some straight up dance music.

I pretty much can't say it any better than what Elysium's website says, "WHY WAIT TIL SUNDAY?
Dance to hits from the 80s, along with your old goth favorites, every Wednesday night. Pay no cover for Midwave, where Saturday and Sunday meet."

Red 7 has got a great local lineup of bands tonight for no cover at all. We Aim to Try, Obsolete Machines, and For Hours and Ours are all set to play. I've even heard rumors of turkey and stuffing...but maybe those punks are just going to steal it from next door!

Complimentary drinks starting after 9:30pm tonight at Speakeasy. Boom.
Labels: Barcelona, Beauty Bar, canvas, elysium, lanai, plush, Red 7, the speakeasy, things to do
I figured I'd better post a blog for today since there are quite a few of you lucky fucks who don't have to work tomorrow. I am not so fortunate. Ugh.
As far as I know it's been a long while since the lovely ladies and gents of Petals have played a show. However, they're back in action for tonight's edition of EZ Action at Beauty Bar! Catch Petals, Stegosaurus Flex, and as always DJ Scorpio, for free.

Every Tuesday Loki and friends can be found at Plush for Austin's best and possibly only drum n bass dance party. The two dollar Dos XX and New Castles don't hurt either.

Speaking of drunken Austin party staples, Shakespeares. Yeah. If you don't feel like dancing but participating in wasted sing-alongs, Shakespeares.

All I have to say is kung-fu blaxploitation horror for $1. Grab your tickets in advance, or just get'em at the door of Alamo Drafthouse-Ritz. Read the full details here.

Sry, tonight's Neko Case (The New Pornographers) show at Antone's with Oh No, Oh My is sold out. Don't feel too bad, it was to benefit the Austin Food Bank. I suppose you could buy a ticket from a scalper, but that kind of defeats the purpose.
