The Peen Scene will be taking a break for a few days. We will be back with all of the party time excellents in Austin once again very soon. Until then, enjoy three of our favorite holiday jams.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE PEEN SCENE!
I'm a huge fan of Christmas horror. In fact, over the weekend I watched Silent Night, Deadly Night V "The Toy Maker", fucking classic. So, after just a tiny bit of research on Christmas Evil, sold. It sounds quite mind blowing. Let's just say while growing up, the main character sees Mommy kissing Santa Claus...WITH HER VAGINA. Boom. Terror Tuesday at the Alamo Drafthouse fucking brings it! However, ready for some terrible news? The one showing of this sure to be amazing film is sold the fuck out. If you're desperate to witness the glory, I do believe the whole thing is on Youtube, starting here. You're welcome.

Where 8-bit meets screamo, you've got Horse the Band. Tonight they're playing at Emo's along with Zlam Dunk, Crash Gallery, and Versus Levianthan. I have no idea what kind of dances will be done at this show, everything from picking up change to the pogo. $10 at the door.

Wow, two weeks in a row the slutty EZ Action flyers have let me down. They've still got a damn good rock show however. Shitty Carwash and White Rhino will join Tuesday night Beauty Bar resident, DJ Scorpio. There's no cover and the party don't stop until 2 in the AM.

You know the drill. Tuesday night at Shakespeare's means $2 liquid courage and karaoke. Good times.

Red Fez has got a straight up dance party featuring DJ Manny tonight. Manny is one of the most trusted in the Austin game and he pulls out all the stops at this weekly. Jams from yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Drum n Bass. Every Tuesday at Plush, aint nothin' but a jungle party.
Labels: Alamo Drafthouse, Beauty Bar, emos, plush, red fez, shakespeares, things to do
Not only is today Winter Solstice, but it is also the day that 30 years ago Tibault Bowman was birthed. Happy Birthday to DJ Thibault of AutoBody, you have a mega killer lineup for your party! The Octopus Project, Neiliyo, {{{Sunset}}}, Markus (with a K), Paradise Titty (all girl Guns n Roses tribute band), and All My Friends (LCD Soundsystem tribute band) at The Mohawk tonight, massive fucking bday for sure! Tickets are $12 at the door, doors which open at 7:00pm.

It's Monday so Nasty's got your back, as always. Prince Klassen and DJ Mel want to make you sweat. Armed with hip hop and turn tables, they're going to make that happen. Just like every Monday for the past 13+ years.

Red Fez has got Cauze One of Raw Word Records each and every Monday Night. You know that means the soon to be Bday man, Orion could show up, could spin some tunes, could blow your eardrums the fuck out. Either way, you're in for a great dance party and Red Fez is pretty fucking dope. Free.

The ever reliable Alamo Drafthouse's Music Monday has got a metal documentary tonight. I'm pretty sure I saw it on VH1 back when us Peens had cable, tha good ol' days. Worth $2 and delicious food, probably. The show starts at 9:45pm.
Labels: Alamo Drafthouse, nasty's, red fez, The Mohawk, things to do
Oh.My.God. I srsly haven't been that drunk in years, fucking years. If you were there, you know what the fuck I'm talking about. Oh bliterated. Thanks to everyone who came out and partied either at Barcelona for the Ocelot, Bird Peterson, Go Go Garcia, and Prepmode "Swerve Reunion/3way B-day" or to The Music Gym for our Birthday After Party with B the Beat and Garrett Boyd. Both parties were mother fucking wild...from what I remember. I love you all!

I'm pretty sure if you're reading this you should come to Barcelona tonight and help me celebrate my birth. You know I wouldn't do you dirty, far from it! We've got Ocelot in his first Austin performance since SXSW, Bird Peterson making his triumphant return to the ATX as well, Go Go Garcia the newest member of Sugartown Records, and The Scratch Academy's Prepmode! You aint seen a lineup like this since the best summer of your life! On top of all that, I went and pulled those lovely Sailor Jerry girls to hook you Peens up with free Sailor Jerry Rum from 11:30pm-12:30am. So show up, drop $3 spankies at the door, and then dance until those dreaded Barcelona lights come on. Be sure to find me, Don, and Orion to wish us old ass men a happy b-deezy!

For 2 years now, Manolo Black, Pagame, Orion, Hobo D, and DJ Dus a.k.a. The Peligrosa Allstars have been bringing killer tropical, cumbia dance parties to Austin, Texas. Yes, despite Orion's birthday being celebrated at Barcelona, Orion will be across the street at The Parish for Peligrosa's 2 year anniversary. If you hurry up and RSVP you can participate in the anniversary party for just $3, if you slack it'll cost you $5 at the door. 6th street aint ready, we takin' over this bitch for one night, then you can have it back, bro.

The good folks at Austin Vida have put together a damn good lineup for Beauty Bar. Live sets by Maneja Beto, El Tule, and Este Vato. All the while DJ Chorizo Funk will be all up in the mix. The cover for all of this Latin goodness is only $5, bueno?

Two of Houston's biggest names are taking on Table Manners Crew tonight at Plush. That's right, and Dayta vs Digg, Kid Slyce, DJ Crown and the whole crew. Its gonna be a hip hop blood bath, I guarantee it!

Over at The Spiderhouse there's gonna be another one of those dope HypeHeadz dance party! Tonight's all ages event featuring DeeJay YayYay, Dubbel Dutch, Tummy Toast, and visuals by VJ Decay is a celebration for the return of our friend Kidd Citrus! That dude is a straight up amazing dancer, go and watch!

Way too many names, both big and small, to name on this dance party! However, Paparazzi, Noel Sanger, Joe Nice, and Exceed are headlining, just to name a few. This will no doubt be a completely massive dance party, going on over at The Millennium Youth Entertainment Complex. Online Tickets are available for $23.25, I'm not sure how much walk ups will cost you.

You Peens know that I fully support all things TXRD. Well, tonight they're having a little fund-raiser down at Tiniest Bar in Texas. The theme is "Santa vs Satan", if you come dressed up for the theme you get in for $3, if not $5. Btw, Team Satan all day! Music is to be provided by Whiskey Business and Petals, so you know shit's gonna packed. Get there early, dress up, and get drunk.

When the lights go down in the city, well, you wanna be here! Music Gym is your one and only after party spot tonight, believe that! Just $5 at the door and then you get all the alcohol your poor liver can handle. We're making a huge effort to insure that booze doesn't run out, but you Austin kids sure can do some drinkin'! If its cold outside, inside B The Beat will keep you warm for the first hour with a set full of the raddest dancehall you've never heard! Then Hoodie Allen and Garrett Boyd will be taking music into their own hands for the remainder of the mother fucker. Hey, its fucking Austin, we go hard until the sun comes up! Again, I don't care where you've been all night long, The Music Gym (815 E. 6th St. - just across I-35 from dt 6th) is the one and only spot to hit at 2AM. Free alcohol, boom.
